Richard Russell, Director of Materials Science and Applications, will be the Draper representative on MTL's Industrial Advisory Board. Draper is a not-for-profit research and development laboratory focused on the design, development, and deployment of advanced technological solutions for our nation's most challenging and important problems in security, space exploration, healthcare, and energy.

Rich Russell, Director of Materials Science and Applications, commented, "We are extremely proud to join the Microsystems Industrial Group. This membership will serve as a platform for collaboration and partnerships not only with MTL researchers, but with other Microsystems Industrial Group members and the larger MIT community having interest in nano enabled by the creation of novel materials."

MTL is an interdepartmental laboratory at MIT with a mission to foster research and education at the nanoscale. MTL supports research projects in circuits and systems, MEMS, electronic and photonic devices, and molecular and nanotechnology, among other topics. The Microsystems Industrial Group is an association of corporate members of MTL who enjoy preferential access to the broad range of nanoscale activities of MTL and MIT. They provide critical support for the infrastructure and programs of MTL.

Jesús del Alamo, Director of MTL stated, "We are pleased to welcome Draper Laboratory to the Microsystems Industrial Group. Draper and MTL share a great deal of DNA and have strongly synergistic and complementary activities in MEMS, microfluidics, medical devices, bioMEMS and other areas. Draper's membership in the MIG will create many opportunities for the MTL community to collaborate with Draper in a wide range of research projects."
