An end to one era and the start of the next: the MTL Directors' Brunch held on December 21, 2013 celebrated Vladimir Bulović's service to MTL and welcomed Jesús del Alamo as the new director. This event was emceed by Charlie Sodini with help from Henry Smith. Guests of honor were all living MTL Directors who were seated at the front of the room. This was an impressive lineup with MIT President, Rafael Reif; Acting Provost (now Provost) Martin Schmidt; School of Engineering Associate Dean for Innovation, Vladimir Bulović; Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department Head Anantha Chandrakasan; founding Director Dimitri Antoniadis, and current Director Jesús de Alamo. Each MTL director was given a few moments to speak about their place in MTL history and to express their appreciation to Vladimir Bulović for his service to MTL. Dick Adler, also a leader of MTL, made an appearance in spirit through Charlie Sodini's call for a moment of silence. A sumptuous seasonal buffet was one more highlight of this pleasant afternoon event that was open to all MTL students, faculty, staff, and affiliates.
