I am delighted to inform you that a paper from Dr. Luis Velásquez-García's group in MTL received the prestigious Best Proceedings Paper award at the 13th International Conference on Micro- and Nano-Technology for Power Generation and Energy Conversion Applications (PowerMEMS 2013) last week in London. PowerMEMS is one of the most important conferences specialized on MEMS/NEMS and energy.
The paper was authored by Shuo Chen, Frances Hill, Eric Heubel and Luis Fernando Velásquez-García and is titled "A Compact X-ray Generator Using a Nanostructured Field Emission Cathode and a Microstructured Transmission Anode". Shuo and Frances are postods and Eric is a student at MIT. The devices were fabricated in MTL.
It is very rewarding for me to see the fantastic quality of research that takes place in MTL's facilities.
