About MARC

The MTL Annual Research Conference, or MARC, is an annual conference celebrating the research achievements of students and staff using MTL’s facilities in their varied electronics research. This event encourages interaction among MTL students, faculty, and industry partners. MARC2014 will be the tenth year of this student-led conference. The student reviews/MARC have been held at various locations through the years, from the MIT Endicott House to the Waterville Valley Conference and Event Center.

Where is MARC?

This year, MARC will be held at the Omni Mount Washington hotel in Bretton Woods, NH. Yes, it’s that Bretton Woods.

Who can present their work at MARC?

All grad students, postdocs, visiting scientists, and staff working within MTL, or whose advisers are MTL core or affiliate members, are invited (and encouraged!) to submit work to be presented at the conference.

Does MARC cost anything? How do I sign up?

MARC2014 is free, and registration will be open to all grad students, postdocs, visiting scientists, faculty, and staff whose advisors are MTL core or affiliate members or working within MTL. Registration will open at a later date. Some of the winter activities will require a nominal fee to participate. Note that authors will still need to register for the conference, even if the abstract is accepted.

I heard this is a ski trip. Is this a ski trip?

Yes! The first morning and afternoon of the conference is dedicated to winter activities, including skiing, skating, sledding, and snowboarding. We will also have some activities that can be enjoyed indoors. Stay tuned for details on these activities as they are finalized.

Is this an overnight trip?

Yes. The main conference activities start very early on Day 2, so therefore we suggest you travel to Bretton Woods with us. MTL provides complementary transportation to and from the facility.

Planning Committees

MARC2014's planning and execution was the combined effort of many individuals. Here is a list of the people who helped put it all together.
